GERRY – An antique cowboy doll purchased at the first Gerry Fire Department Rodeo in 1945 will be part of this year’s 75th rodeo celebration in Summer 2019.
The doll is a gift from former Ross Mills resident Violet Engstrom, who now lives at Heritage Green in Greenhurst.
Engstrom, who is turning 100-years-old in January, said she remembered that her last husband, Allen, bought the doll as a gift to her during the first rodeo.
Engstromsaid she believes the doll was bought for $3.00.
Moreover, Engstrom said the doll was signed by C.W. Rogers, a clown, at the first rodeo.
