Local Towns Receive Grants

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY – The Towns of Ripley and Portland will be receiving grants to help fund development within the rural communities.
Town of Portland Supervisor Daniel Schrantz says his town’s $60,000 will help their highway department keep up with their equipment.
Ripley Town Supervisor Douglas Bowen said the nearly $150,000 grant will repair storm damage to the town’s dam, a major water source for the town.
The grants were announced Thursday morning by Congressman Tom Reed.
