New Study At Roswell Gives Patients Fewer Opioids To Deal With Pain

BUFFALO – Researchers at Roswell Park may have found a breakthrough in the fight against opioid abuse.

A new study found that pain after surgery can be managed without the use of potentially harmful drugs. For two years, Roswell Park gave some surgery patients fewer opioids than they normally would.

In some cases, patients got nothing but Tylenol and Ibuprofen.

Doctors think this can put a big dent in the Opioid addiction crisis.

Roswell Park officials said they will now apply this to all surgery patients beginning at the start of next year.
