INDIANAPOLIS – ESPN’s Field Yates is reporting that Southwestern native Nick Sirianni will be hired as the new Indianapolis Colts Offensive Coordinator.
Southwestern High School Athletic Director Kevin Salisbury says Sirianni has paid his dues to get to where he’s at.
“It’s not a surprise to me, dealing with Fran and Jay (Sirianni’s father and brother, respectively), and seeing the character that those two have have, that Nick would get to this level at this point in his life, ” Salisbury said. “I was lucky enough to go to a few games with Jay, and talk with Nick and see the work he puts in.”
Salisbury said him and Jay Sirianni rarely saw Nick when they visited him while he was a member of the Kansas City Chiefs staff.
“I can remember we stayed with Nick when he was with Kansas City,” Salisbury said. “We didn’t see him too much because he was at the facility getting ready for not only the game that week, but because of the position he had at the time, he already had been breaking down film for the next opponent that they were going to see.”
“It was a 12-15 hour work day at their facility breaking down film.”
Sirianni played college ball at Mount Union, where he won three Division III titles.
