Amber Alert Issued For Missing 14-Month-Old Boy

SODUS, NY – Police are searching for a 14-month-old boy after his mother’s body was discovered in a bag in a wooded area of Wayne County.

The child, Owen Hidalgo-Calderon, has not been found. Police are searching the area east of Rochester. A alert was sent out to all of Western New York.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s office said 18-year-old Selena Hidalgo-Calderon’s body was found Thursday at a farm where she reportedly had worked. The woman had been missing for a week.
Her boyfriend, Everardo Reyes, was arrested on charges of tampering with physical evidence.
Rebecca Fuentes of the Workers’ Center of Central New York told the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle that Hidalgo-Calderon was from Guatemala and was being deported. She says the mother was in the process of applying for asylum.
Child was taken under circumstances that lead police to believe that they are in imminent danger of serious physical harm and or death. Anyone with any information on this abduction is asked to call the Wayne County Sheriffs Office or dial 911.
