Another Friday, Another High School Football Night

It’s Friday, which means it’s another high school football night.
The 2-3 Jamestown Red Raiders will have their homecoming game against the 0-5 Frontier Falcons.
Senior running back Francisco Rodriguez looks to have another big game. He is second on the Red Raiders in rushing yards with 284, and is first in receiving yards with 98.
Senior running back/linebacker Peyton Olson leads the team in rushing with 292 yards on 56 carries, and is also first on the team with 52 tackles. Nine of those tackles were for a loss. Olson also has two sacks.
The Frontier Falcons, who have been outscored 156-28 this season, look to get their first win.
The Falcons, however, have shown flashes of brilliance. Sophomore running back Hayden Carder leads the Falcons with 304 yards rushing on 56 carries.
Senior strong safety Tyler Bailey leads the team with 43 tackles, and also has an interception. Ball-hawking senior cornerback Austin Calhoun leads Frontier’s defense with four interceptions.
In other Friday Night Lights action, the 5-0 Southwestern Trojans will be at home against the 3-2 merged Chautauqua Lake/Westfield football team. The Trojans are led by Rutgers University committment Cole Snyder.
Snyder is coming off of a historic night last Friday against the Olean Huskies in which he threw for a school-record five touchdown passes.
The merged Chautauqua Lake/Westfield football team, led by coach Curt Fischer, are coming off of a 39-21 victory last Friday against the Portville Panthers.
The 5-0 Clymer/Sherman/Panama Wolfpack looks to stay undefeated as they battle the 4-1 Maple Grove Red Dragons, who are on a three-game winning streak.
The Wolfpack are led by junior quarterback Gerritt Hinsdale, who has thrown for 644 yards and nine touchdowns against one interception.
Hinsdale’s No.1 target this season is junior wide receiver/cornerback Cameron Barmore. This season, Barmore has 12 receptions for 301 yards and three touchdowns.
Barmore also has 16 tackles and one interception.
Senior running back/linebacker Michael Beatman has shown consistent versatility both offensively and defensively during the season.
On offense, Beatman has 477 rushing yards on just 43 carries along with seven touchdowns. He’s also added six receptions for 101 yards and a touchdown.
On defense, Beatman leads the Wolfpack with 32 tackles.
Another Wolfpack, senior running back/linebacker Derek Ecklund, has contributed on both sides of the ball as well. Ecklund leads the Wolfpack in rushing with 580 yards on 61 carries and 10 touchdowns.
Ecklund has also added 26 tackles.
Maple Grove recently won their last game against merged Gowanda/Pine Valley, 16-8.
Another game high school fans should watch is the Falconer/Cassadaga Valley merged team, who will be on the road tonight against the Portville Panthers. The Falconer/Cassadaga Valley team has the one-two punch with senior dual-threat quarterback Connor Crabtree and senior running back/linebacker Robbie Penhollow.
Crabtree has completed 23-39 passes for 384 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing 64 times for 405 yards and five touchdowns, this season. Penhollow has been a man on a mission this year for Falconer/Cassadaga Valley. On offense, Penhollow has rushed for 783 yards on 111 carries and a dozen touchdowns.
Penhollow has also shown a good pair of hands, catching a dozen passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns.
On defense, Penhollow leads the team with 69 tackles while also intercepting two passes. The Falconer/Cassadaga Valley team will head into the game with a 4-2 record. Portville is 1-4 after losing their last game to the Chautauqua Lake/Westfield merged team, 39-21.
