FREDONIA – The 2018-2019 Fredonia State Blue Devils Men’s Hockey team will be heading to Pittsburgh tonight to face-off against the Chatham Cougars.
Puck drop for the game will be at :20 p.m.
Last season, the Blue Devils finished with a 13-11-4 record. The Blue Devils also won two of their three games in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Tournament.
Junior forward, Jacob Haynes, a native of Whitby, Ontario, scored six goals and assisted on nine others to finish with 15 points in 17 games played last season.
Anton Rosen, a junior goaltender from Orsa, Sweden, went 8-4-1 last season behind the pipes. Rosen also had a .924 save percentage, good for fourth in the conference, and allowed 2.86 goals per game.
Forward, Sam Wilbur, who was a senior, scored nine goals and 11 assists to finish with 20 points in 19 games played. Wilbur’s nine goals were tied for fourth in the conference, and his 20 points were good for sixth in the conference.
The Blue Devils also finished fourth in the conference with 3.11 goals scored per game, fifth with 3.26 goals allowed per game, sixth in power play percentage, converting on 14-79 power play opportunities (17.72%), and tenth in penalty killing percentage, killing off 67-90 power plays (74.4%.)
Fredonia also led the conference with five short-handed goals and were second with 14.05 penalty minutes per game.
