Brocton Man Injured In Crash, Charged With Possession

DUNKIRK – A Brocton man was injured in a car accident and subsequently hit with several charges shortly before 6 p.m., Thursday, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department.

Steven Andrews, 53, was injured after a crash near Route 5 and Wilbur Road. Deputies responded to the crash and said Andrews was taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Upon further investigation, police said Andrews was driving under the influence of drugs. They also said he possessed a controlled substance.

He was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, unsafe lane change, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and was issued an appearance ticket.
