Car Collides With Semi In Busti; One Person Hurt

BUSTI – One person was transported to UPMC Chautauqua WCA Hospital following a car vs. semi wreck at the intersection of Baker St and Big Tree Road Wednesday afternoon.
Lakewood-Busti Police Officer Timothy Riley told WNYNewsNow that the car was headed west on Baker Street when the accident occurred.
“The vehicle was traveling westbound, and the tractor trailer went to turn north onto big tree road and that’s when the car hit the front of the rig,” said Riley.
Riley says that for the most part drivers this winter are exercising caution and showing respect for others.
He said it’s critical to allow yourself enough time to get to where you are going in order to avoid accidents.
“Use your common sense, pay attention to road conditions, look at the weather forecasts and don’t be in a hurry,” said Riley. “Just drive safely!”
