ARKWRIGHT – Cassadaga Valley Central School officials posted on update on the school’s website regarding Friday’s bus accident on Bard Road.
“In the process of making a turn at a scheduled turn around, a car drove into the front right tire of the bus. The bus had all the appropriate lights on and was following approved protocols,” school officials said. “At the time of the incident, there were 13 students on the bus. Cassadaga Fire and Rescue along with several law enforcement officers responded to the scene and took typical precautionary measures.”
“No children or passengers in the car were injured and no damage was done to the bus. Two children were taken to the hospital to be checked out at the request of the parent. The school nurse performed safety checks on each child when they returned to school before going to class,” officials noted.
“Our transportation staff and school administration were involved from the moment the driver contacted the bus garage. The NYS Troopers on the scene cleared the situation and released the students to return to school.”
