Cattaraugus Woman Charged With Endagerment And Possession Of Heroin

FALCONER – On Monday, New York State Police Troopers out of Jamestown arrested Ashley Johnson, 29, of Cattaraugus, for Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Seventh Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Troopers said they saw her vehicle, which was described in an unauthorized use of a vehicle complaint reported by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff Department, parked outside of a village building. Johnson was at the wheel with a young child inside the vehicle, police said.
Johnson was taken into custody and, while being searched prior to transport, three hypodermic needles with heroin residue and a tin containing heroin were located inside Johnson’s purse, police said.
Under the seat where the child was sitting was a plastic container with heroin residue, according to police. Johnson was processed and arraigned in the Town of Ellery Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail. The child was turned over to a family member.
