CELORON-Hundreds took part in a dragon boat race Saturday, drawing visitors from across the region.

Greater Chautauqua Federal Credit Union CEO and event coordinator Kelly Haaksma told WNYNewsNow the event was successful, although concerns about lake algae still loom.

Haaksma said she hopes to raise S10,000-plus for a local hockey team and the Chautauqua Lake Association.

  1. Why not put all the money into the much needed lake….
It wpuld bring more people back for tourism.. Always having the lake look dirty algee and seaweed over growing makes pur community look like we dont care about the lake or anything else
