Chautauqua, Cattaraugus Counties Issue Travel Advisory After Heavy Snow Blankets Region

WESTERN NEW YORK – After heavy snow fell in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties overnight, officals in both areas issued a Travel Advisory Wednesday morning.
In a statement to the media, officials said roads are covered with several inches of snow and some are impassable.
Non-essential Chautauqua County employees are not required to report to work.
Blowing snow has also reduced visibility throughout the area.
Officials asks drivers to use extreme caution while crews work to clear and treat roads. Some roads have gone untreated as of 7:30 a.m.
This is not a travel ban but rather an advisory.
