JAMESTOWN – U.S. Rep. Tom Reed announced Tuesday a $125,000 grant to provide the Chautauqua Opportunities for Development, Inc. (CODI) with funding to increase lending and investment activity.
“We care about ensuring our local businesses have fair access to financial support and lending opportunities,” Reed said. “This grant enables Chautauqua Opportunities to better assist our small businesses and boost jobs in our community.”
“Chautauqua Opportunities for Development, Inc. is thrilled to learn that we have been awarded a federal CDFI grant that will allow us to focus on expanding our capacity to offer technical assistance to small businesses in Chautauqua County,” Diane Hewitt-Johnson, Interim Executive Director, said. “We know that economic development is the cornerstone to successful communities, and the grant award will help us to assist businesses with developing aspects such as cash flow projections, marketing plans, and business plans.”
Chautauqua Opportunities for Development, Inc. is a non-profit certified Community Development Financial Institution established in 2003. Affiliated with Chautauqua Opportunities, CODI works to promote economic development and financial security. CODI offers services for businesses and individuals to increase job opportunities and provide access to low cost financial products.
