JAMESTOWN-A fire ravaged a home at Chestnut St. Tuesday evening, leaving plenty of heat and smoke damage per Jamestown Fire Battalion Chief Sam Salemmi.
“The damage to the inside is pretty extensive with the smoke and heat,” Salemmi said.
Neighbor Claire Murray told WNYNewsNow she called 911 after her mother and brother noticed the inferno, describing the event as “horrible” and “sickening.”
“My brother called 911 and they said they already received a call from another neighbor,” Murray said. “I called the owners of the house to make sure they weren’t home.”
Murray said the children and family pets were at their grandparents’s house while their parents are out of town.
Salemmi said no injures are reported and an investigation will commence once crews extinguish the hot spots.
