City Man Accused Of Assaulting Officer

JAMESTOWN – A city man is accused of striking an officer in the face with his fist during an incident Thursday at 817 N. Main St., according to the Jamestown Police Department.
The incident reportedly began with a minor vehicle accident in front of the address. Christian J. Encarnacion, 22, allegedly yelled obscenities in the parking lot of the establishment and refused to comply with officer’s commands.
Encarnacion allegedly struck the officer when police attempted to take him into custody and continued to struggle. When officers attempted to transport him to the patrol vehicle, he allegedly head butted two officers in the head and continued to aggressively attempt to assault officers.
Encarnacion, prior to police arriving, allegedly struck the operator of the other vehicle involved and kicked his car, causing damage. He was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and two counts of second-degree harassment.
