HVAC Leak Forces Evacuation Of Downtown Building; 19 People Treated, 11 Others Transported To WCA

JAMESTOWN-The downtown building at 111 W. 2nd St. which houses The Connection was  evacuated for an HVAC leak on the 5th floor, according to the Jamestown Fire Department.  

Fire Chief Chet Harvey said 30 people total were affectedd at least six people were taken to the hospital and many others were being treated at the scene. At least six ambulances were on location and a staging area was established along W. 2nd St. near the Post-Journal.

Up to seven fire departments responded to the scene after a call for mutual aid was broadcast.

  1. Just received a call from the Corporate Office in Minnesota that the Jamestown office is closed tonight, and should reopen tomorrow, based on assessment of conditions after clean up crew finishes.
