Damaged Exhaust Pipe To Blame In Cherry Creek Fire

CHERRY CREEK – A damaged fuel oil boiler exhaust pipe is to blame for a structure fire Friday evening at 7285 Plank Rd, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said heat from the exhaust led to contents around the chimney igniting, creating a fire within the residence.

The fire was contained, but the house reportedly sustained water and fire damage.

The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
