Ellicott Unanimously Strikes Annexation; Fate Rests In Court’s Hands

Falconer School Superintendent Steve Penhollow provided the following quote at 3:25 PM: “We still firmly believe the annexation is nothing more than the City of Jamestown shifting the burden of a budget deficit to their neighbors. The school, Village (of Falconer) and the Town (of Ellicott) are looking forward to our day in court.” Penhollow is referring to the appellate case that will begin Sept. 12th in Rochester.

ELLICOTT-The Ellicott Town Council unanimously voted Thursday afternoon to strike down Jamestown’s plans to annex a strip of land on Dow St. for BPU during a special meeting at Town Hall.

Town Supervisor Pat McLaughlin broke down the town’s decision during an interview with WNYNewsNow shortly after.

WNYNewsNow has a call into the offices of both City President Greg Rabb and Falconer Schools Superintendent Steve Penhollow for comment.
