Escaped Inmate In Police Custody After Week Long Manhunt

SINCLAIRVILLE-A Chautauqua County man is back in police custody after eluding deputies during a court appearance early last week in Charlotte Town Court.

Sheriff Joseph Gerace told WNYNewsNow that 33-year-old Jacob M. Raynor was arrested Tuesday at 3:15PM in a crawl space at his home on 9 Reed St. in Sinclairville.

Photo by Sheriff’s Office shows alleged hiding spot beneath the residence.

Raynor was arraigned in Charlotte Town Court and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail.

Deputies said additional charges may be pending against Raynor. The investigation will continue into possible accomplices.

  1. If you escape from jail unsentenced you’re supposed to do three years if you’re sentenced it’s an automatic 7 years unless things have changed over the years

  2. I knew him before he was all screwed up. sad to see a nice boy throw his life away .
