SYRACUSE, NY – Family, friends and supporters of Selena Hidalgo-Calderon spoke out Tuesday morning on the case of her missing son in Sodus calling for justice in the case.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office ended its search Sunday off of a wooded area off of Joy Road after crews spent more than a week searching the area.
14-month-old Owen Hidalgo-Calderon was reported missing in May, along with his mother, whose body was found days later wrapped in a plastic bag.
Selena’s boyfriend, Alberto Reyes, is charged with hiding her body, but not with her death.
Reyes appeared in federal court Monday to face charges that he illegally re-entered the United States.
Reyes has been deported twice before and is due back in court in August.
He will stay in custody until that hearing.
