Fire Destroys Abandoned Woodlawn Ave. Home

JAMESTOWN-A fire ravaged an abandoned home Monday evening at 2840 Woodlawn Ave.

Fluvanna Fire Chief David Bartkowiak told reporter Justin Gould the fire was called in around 8:30. Bartkowiak said the house was ruined.

“At this time, the building has collapsed under its own accord,” Bartkowiak said. “We are treating it as a rubbish fire as we put out the hot spots.”

Bartkowiak said an investigation will commence once the fire is completely out. Jamestown BPU was reportedly notified as electricity was still running in the house.

Fire departments on scene included Fluvanna, Jamestown, Gerry, Falconer, Kennedy and Ellery Center.
