Former Actress Granted Bail In Federal Sex Trafficking Case

NEW YORK – A former actress, indicted on federal sex trafficking charges, was released from jail on a $5 million bond Tuesday.
Prosecutors say Allison Mack was involved with the cult-like organization NXIVM, which claimed to be a self-help program.
Authorities said Mack helped to recruit women to serve as sex slaves for its alleged leader, Keith Raniere.
Mack has pleaded not guilty to the charges, but lawyers are in plea negotiations, according to multiple media reports.
The former CW actress, who starred in Smallville until 2011, is due back in court on May 3rd.
