JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown man who spent more than two decades on the Jamestown City Council has died.
Vivian Taylor, 94, died Wednesday morning at UPMC Chautauqua.
Taylor served 24 years as a City Council member and served on several boards and organizations.
An Alabama native, Taylor served in World War II in Europe and was honored with battle stars and medals. He attended Fisk University and SUNY Fredonia.
Among the many organizations on which he served were the YMCA’s Y Men, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Jamestown Civil Air Patrol Senior Squadron.
His wife, Lula, whom he married in 1950, died this past March. Funeral services are under the direction of the Lind Funeral Home.
