Fredonia Police Probe Suspicious Man In Stores

FREDONIA – Fredonia Police are investigating multiple suspicious situations involving an adult male following three separate females on three separate occasions around the Fredonia Walmart and TJ Maxx during the month of August.
On Sunday, a female reported that, while in Walmart with her two children, she was followed around the store by an man. She reportedly made contact with Walmart employees and advised them of the situation, and the male left the area. Following the incident, the female reported the incident to Fredonia Police.
On Wednesday, another female reported that, while in Walmart on August 8 with her child, she was followed around the store by a man. She reportedly made contact with her mother (an employee at Walmart), pointed the suspect out to her mother, and at that point, the suspect left the area.
Also on Wednesday, Fredonia Police was informed by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office that they took a report from a female on Tuesday regarding a similar incident that reportedly occurred on August 11 at TJ Max. In this incident, the woman (no children with her) was followed around the store by an adult male suspect. Upon realizing she was being followed, she reportedly took a picture of the suspect and the suspect left the area.
Police say they’ve identified the man. WNYNewsNow is attempting to learn the identify of the man.
On August 22, 2018 a female placed a post on Facebook alleging she had witnessed an attempted abduction at Walmart. An investigation into that post determined it was a false posting.
