Gerace Announces The Implementation Of Smart 911 System

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY – Sheriff Joseph A. Gerace announced that Smart 911 is now available. The Smart 911 app lets community members access all safety tools.
Residents can now create a free Safety Profile for their household that informs 911 and first responders to have in the event of an emergency. Through the Smart 911 app, individuals can verify phones, add relevant information for dispatchers, and upload photos.
Whenever someone dials 911 from a phone connected with their Safety Profile, the 911 call taker gets your information that can be used to gain the proper response to the right location. When every second counts, Smart 911 provides details that could be the difference between life and death.
People can sign up for Smart 911 on the new app or at www.smart911.com and create a profile for your household and give 911 information about your household that will display on the 911 call taker’s screen when you make an emergency call. It’s private and secure and you control what information is in your profile.
Sheriff Gerace thinks that the Smart 911 will help during emergencies.
“I strongly encourage residents to create a Smart 911 safety profile. This unique system helps us help you during the time of an emergency. The new app will make it much easier for people to create and manage their profile.”
