Halloween Fun Fair Slated For Wednesday At Children’s Safety Village

ASHVILLE – The Chautauqua Children’s Safety Education Village will host the 9th Annual Halloween Fun Fair for community families from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Ashville next to BOCES.
Children, ages 12 and under, may dress up and trick-or-treat door-to-door among the many miniature buildings that make up the Safety Village. Owners and volunteers of the buildings will be dressed in kid-friendly costumes to pass out candy.
Visiting will be Optimus Prime and Moana, who have made a special trip to have their pictures taken with young guests. Families can enjoy an old-fashioned wagon ride, thanks to friends Land-Pro (formerly Z and M Ag and Turf). They can also take a ride on the Safety Village Express train.
There will be food, kettle corn, face painting, cotton candy, pumpkin painting and more. There is something for almost everyone.
This event will take place, rain or shine.  General admission is $3. Children, ages 4-12 years will be admitted for $2 and children 3 years and under are free. Both cash, and credit cards, will be accepted.
See all upcoming events and class information on www.childrenssafetyvillage.com or on Facebook, under Children’s Safety Village.
All proceeds from events help the Safety Village to continue providing hands-on safety training that is so important to the children in our community. The Chautauqua Children’s Safety Education Village is located at 2695 Rt 394 in Ashville, NY (next to Ashvillle BOCES). It is a not-for-profit organization which was formed in 1996.
The DFT Communications Educational Facility, where classes are held, is surrounded by a child-sized village, complete with a business district, paved roads, a railroad station, street signs, sidewalks and everything you would find in an actual village. The purpose of the Safety Village is to educate children, primarily in the areas of Traffic, Bike and Fire Safety.
The goal is to decrease the number of injuries and fatalities of children in the community by allowing them to experience hands-on safety training that they will remember for a lifetime. The lessons they learn may one day save their life. The Safety Village offers training and certification for First Aid, CPR & AED through the American Heart Association (both on and off site). In addition, we offer a full Babysitting Course which includes a certification in First Aid, CPR & AED.
