JAMESTOWN – Fire investigators are looking into what caused a blaze at 429 Allen St. early Monday morning.
Jamestown Fire Department Battalion Chief Andrew Finson told WNYNewsNow the property was fully engulfed when crews arrived shortly before 2 a.m.
“According to Chief Salemme (who was on duty at the time) they got dispatched and as they got out of the station they could see fire from here (city hall),” said Finson.
Finson said crews remained on scene for several hours as firefighters used two blitz fire monitors and a water tower to extinguish the blaze.
“Nobody was hurt and fire fighters never made entry,” Finson said.
The structure was demolished as of late Monday morning.
An investigation is ongoing.
