Jamestown Police Respond To Report Of Burglary

JAMESTOWN – Police tell WNYNewsNow that they are investigating a burglary.

A crime scene unit was set up directly in front of 322 Newland Ave. where at least eight yellow evidence markers were down.
“We are investigating a burglary,” said Police Chief Harry Snellings.
Several community reporters sent messages to our Facebook page stating that there had been a drive-by shooting in the area, speculation we have not been able to confirm.

“I live in the apartments across the street, (and) I didn’t hear any shots,” said one neighbor.
“No one has been shot,” said Chief Snellings. “Not true.”
There’s no immediate word on injuries or suspects in the case.
