JAMESTOWN – In an effort to bring more affordable fresh fruits and vegetables to more people in the Jamestown area, several community partners are launching the Jamestown Mobile Market.
Sponsored by UnitedHealthcare, in collaboration with Conduit Ministries of Jamestown, the Mobile Market will bring fresh, local produce to four areas of the city. The four areas are the Tree of Life Evangelical Lutheran Church, The Salvation Army, Crestline Villa and The Gateway Center.
Free $5 coupons will be available to all community members at each listed location. Coupons will also be available the day of each event. The free coupons are available at the Salvation Army, St. Susan’s Center, Eat Smart New York, Community Helping Hands, Conduit Ministries and The Resource Center.
All produce will be priced at $1, and be portioned in typical farmers market offerings (quarts/bushels). Every individual is guaranteed $5 worth of produce (5 servings of fruits/veggies of their choice). Additional produce can be purchased with cash/donations.
The goal of our Jamestown Mobile Market is to bring fresh, nutritious food to community members who may not have access to our local grocery stores or the Public Market. Each mobile market stop will include other organization offerings, such as Eat Smart NY cooking demos.
