Jamestown Thanksgiving Food Drive Is In Need Of Support

JAMESTOWN-A local businessman who’s hosted a holiday food drive for the past eight years is asking for the community’s support as he prepares to feed thousands of families this holiday season.

Justin Lindell, Owner of The Q Sports Bar and Nightclub, says Giving Thanks By Giving Back was born out of a need to be together with people.

“I can remember the first year I did this and I just opened the doors to my restaurant and offered people a free meal.”

That year, seven people came in for a free meal. Last year Lindell says he fed more than 2000 people with the help and support of many volunteers including the Jamestown Police Department.

Lindell said he scheduled a meeting to plan this year’s event and only one person showed up.

“Every year throughout the year I could go back through my Facebook or text messages and I would not be exaggerating if I said at least one hundred people over the last year have said that they want to help me with this event,” Lindell said.

“This year one person showed up and that was my friend Lee who is here to help any way he can.”

Lindell says he won’t let anything discourage him as he looks forward to another year of Giving Thanks By Giving Back.
