JPD Chief Says Lafayette Street Victim Was Struck In Head With Blunt Object

JAMESTOWN – A city resident was struck in the head with a blunt object Wednesday evening, according to City Police Chief Harry Snellings. 
Snellings told WNYNewsNow Thursday morning that the investigation is ongoing. Police officers originally responded to a reported stabbing in the apartment building next to Center Ice Laundromat Wednesday night, according to emergency personnel on scene.

The call came in shortly before 8:30, according to County Dispatch.

Alstar EMS sped away from the scene with the victim in the vehicle, followed shortly thereafter by members of the Jamestown Police Department. The victim had a bandage wrapped around their head.
As of now, there’s no word as to the age or name of the victim.
