Longtime Jamestown Police Officer William Pickard Sr. Dies

JAMESTOWN – It’s been a sad week for local law enforcement with the passing of two officers. Deputy Michael Seeley lost his cancer battle and 34-year veteran of the Jamestown Police Department, William Pickard Sr., died Wednesday.
Pickard, who retired in 1995, was known throughout the city for his police work and community relationships.
A former canine officer in Washington, D.C., Pickard was a former president of the Jamestown Kendall Club. He leaves behind his wife, two daughters, a son, and six grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, in the Lind Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
