Man Crashes Into Ditch After Allegedly Eating Soup While Driving

STOCKTON – A City of Dunkirk man was treated for minor injuries after crashing into a ditch late Thursday morning while trying to eat soup while driving.
New York State Police said that Dana Smith, 42, was driving on Route 380 between Pierson and Cemetery Roads around 11 a.m. when his SUV left the road, rolled over, and crashed into a ditch.
Troopers said Smith told them he was eating soup while driving moments before the accident occurred.
Smith was taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Police ticketed Smith for moving from lane unsafely and unlicensed operation.
