NCC To Receive $8.2 Million After State Senate Passes Budget

ALBANY-New York State Senators are expected to cast their final vote Sunday on the 2017-18 budget which would include $8.2 million for the National Comedy Center in Jamestown.

Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Friday state lawmakers agreed upon the $153 billion budget after nearly a week of debate on the overdue bill.

Ride-sharing services such as Uber were approved and are expected to make their debut in Western New York this summer.

SUNY tuition would be free starting this fall for households earning less than $100,000 a year. The governor said about 940,000 families are eligible for this perk.

The initial proposed budget required local governments to develop a shared-services plan but that controversial referendum wasn’t included in the final budget.

Counties would now hold public hearings and vote themselves on shared-services plans.
