New County Sheriff To Be Sworn In For First Time In More Than 20 Years

MAYVILLE – Jim Quattrone, who unseated long-standing Chautauqua County Sheriff Joe Gerace in the 2018 general election, will be sworn in at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1 in a ceremony in the court room of the Gerace Office Building.

The last time Chautauqua County had a new Sheriff, Bill Clinton was president, gasoline was $1.15 per gallon and a gallon of milk cost an average of $2.96.

Quattrone tallied 23,332 votes to Gerace’s 20,572.

This ceremony is open to the public. Access will be through the main doors of the Gerace Office Building.
