New Downtown Business Takes Center Stage

JAMESTOWN-Both local and state officials helped welcome a city man open his new restaurant, Panino, on Pine St. Wednesday afternoon.

Owner James Weaver said he is excited to open a simple, quality alternative to restaurant with similar choices.

“I wanted the menu to be real small, and not give too many options,” Weaver said. “Everything we use is fresh and I wanted to give people something they couldn’t get at Panera.”

Mayor Sam Teresi said it’s important to get people downtown so that businesses will follow suit.

“Business will follow the people, sometimes they’ll follow people to where events and activities will draw people into those areas.”
