New SUNY Fredonia Study Says Water Bottles Are Contaminated

FREDONIA – A report published by the State University of New York at Fredonia’s Geology and Environmental Sciences Department shows that several brand named water bottles are contaminated by microplastic.
The study tested 11 different brands of water from 27 different bottle lots.
Overall, 259 individual bottles were tested, and 93% of the bottles showed a sign of microplastic contamination.

The data collected by the researchers suggests that the contamination is at least partially coming from the packaging and/or the bottling process itself.
