News Now: County Veterans Executive Director Discusses Impacts Of PTSD

JAMESTOWN – Post traumatic stress disorder is a mental health condition that can affects anyone not just military veterans, according to U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. 

The affects of PTSD can make somebody hard to be with. People living with it can be easily startled, suffer with nightmares and often avoid social situations.

An estimated eight percent of Americans have PTSD at any given time, according to the Centers For Disease Control And Prevention.

Coming up at noon on our Facebook page, County Veterans Services Director Greg Carlson will share information about PTSD support for area veterans. Carlson will also share some information about securing veterans benefits.
