Y would u charge the owner if he was trying to get the dog they could have asked about the dog and try to help or called the dog control
If that dog ran at me like that my reaction would be the same. The officer was not wrong at all. The shooting was justified.
Well now that I seen that I take back my comment I seen yesterday when I was under the understanding the dog was innocent but now that I seen that it’s much better off dead then attacking a kid
Well Pyhllis, how about just calling the perps first and asking them if it would be okay to come over for a warrant check? The officer made the correct call and I would only hope to be able to respond as well as he did in that situation. Split second to make decision to shoot and hit the target. Saved himself and partner from harm. Could only imagine if a pedestrian was nearby. Great job JPD from a resident who is thankful for your safety too.

Seriously the police were not even near the door. Could have been anyone walking even a small kid that could have been seriously hurt. There is a reason why you leash your dog. I didn’t see anyone even going after the dog like an owner. I love dogs I really do but I can understand why this happened. They didn’t ambush into the house they hardly made it anywhere on the property.
