Police Seek Driver In Close Call Involving School Bus

CLYMER – Investigators are looking for the driver of a truck that ran a school bus stop sign, nearly hitting students trying to cross the road earlier this month.
New York State Police Captain Eric Balon told WNYNewsNow that the Clymer Central School District sent troopers video from the bus, but investigators were not able to identity the driver of the truck.
The school bus was stopped on Route 474 on October 11, 2018 at around 6:45 a.m. picking up two students. As the truck approached the rear of the bus, the driver sounded the horn warning the kids of the approaching vehicle.
The duo stepped back as the truck quickly passed the bus on its left side.
Balon said his troopers are currently conducting interviews with area residents and looking for any other video that may exist of the incident.
New York State Police encourage anyone with information on this case to contact them at (716) 665-3114.
At the request of the school district, police said video from the bus will not be released at this time.
