JAMESTOWN- SMACKDAB, long considered pioneers of the Western New York progressive funk and soul sound is hosting a CD release party at Shawbucks.
Established in 2001, lead singer Jon Marc Jonhson says the band has worked hard to enjoy success.
“We’ve all been in bands previous to this one, but for the last 16 years we’ve been doing this thing together,” said Johnson.
The list of venues that SMACKDAB has played at include the Great Blue Heron Music Festival, Night Lights Fall Music Festival and The Tralf.
Johnson says the band will perform at the Depot Fall Festival in Brocton on October 21, and at a concert in Erie, PA with Blind Spots, a band from Ithaca.
