Rebels Reel In Another D-1 College Commitment

JAMESTOWN – Colin Schmidt, a forward for the Jamestown Rebels, has committed to play for Union College, a Division I school in Schenectady, NY.

Schmidt, a Maple Grove, MN native, is the fourth Rebels player to have a college commitment. Schmidt is also the second Rebel to commit to Union College, the other being Nick Petruolo.

In 19 games played with the Rebels thus far, Schmidt has totaled 13 points, (5 goals, 8 assists.) Schmidt also currently is riding a four-game streak in which he has tallied at least one point.

Prior to playing for the Rebels, Schmidt had a brief three-game stint playing for the Waterloo Black Hawks of the United States Hockey League (USHL.)

Schmidt will begin his tenure with the Union College Dutchmen in Fall 2019.
