Ripley Woman Dies In Car Vs. Train Collision

RIPLEY-A Ripley woman died Thursday as the result of a train striking her vehicle on the railroad tracks of Goodrich St. according to State Police Captain Eric Balon.

Balon said the vehicle operated by Marilyn L. Triana, 58, caught fire after overturning numerous times due to collision. No evidence of any other passengers appeared.

The Captain also released the following in a text message with WNYNewsNow: “It is unknown at this time if she was avoiding the lights to cross or was preoccupied with the third set of tracks and the other crossing, and did not see the train on her tracks.” There are three tracks at the Goodrich St. crossing.
