Update @ 6:45 p.m. – New York State Police report that it is safe for residents in the Limestone area to leave their homes and continue normal activities.
Police said the suspect is no longer in the area.
LIMESTONE – The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office issued a shelter in place for the Limestone/Carrollton area as they look for a man with a long gun.
According to a post on the department’s Facebook Page, the man was last seen in the area of Paton Drive, Church and Main Street.
The man is reportedly wearing a gray shirt and is a 6’9″ 192 lbs white male with shaved dark hair.
Deputies said if he is spotted do not approach but rather call 911.
It is unknown what the man is wanted for.
