Southern Tier Xpress Finish Off Two Game Sweep Of Toledo, Metro Jets On Horizon

JAMESTOWN-The Southern Tier Xpress evened their record beating the Toledo Cherokee 4-1 at the Northwest Arena on Saturday. 

In the second period, Mickenzie Restle opened the scoring for the Xpress with a goal at 4:00 with a helper from Calvin Tonzi. Michael Keller deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 7:14 with an assist from his teammate Harry Payne.

Stuart Pearson put in a goal at 11:50. Pearson netted a goal at 14:25 with a helper from Keller.

During the third, Josiah Carter finally put Toledo on the board with a goal at 16:04.

Southern Tier’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Ryan Pascarella’s big night as he stopped 39 of the 40 shots he faced.

‘Ryan Pascarella’s counterpart, Gonzalez, also had a big night, managing to stop 32 of 36, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Southern Tier Xpress’ record to (6-6-0-0).
