Springville Native Graduates As New York State Trooper

ALBANY – More than 150 new Troopers with the New York State Police were honored for their perseverance and dedication in completing training at the New York State Police Academy this week.
Including, Trooper Maryama McCarthy of Springville. Trooper McCarthy spoke during an interview filmed by the state police about her time at the academy.
“It feels wonderful for me to say that I am a New York State Trooper. It took a lot of hard work and dedication to be here and I feel like I earned it, so it feels amazing for me to say that.” said McCarty “The most difficult part about being at the academy is being away from my kids back home. But I had a lot of support, so it made it all the worthwhile.”
This was the 207th graduating class of the academy. Trooper McCarty will be deployed to Troop NYC and patrol in the New York City area.
