SUNY Fredonia Professor’s Journey Across Lake Erie Halted

LAKE ERIE-A SUNY Fredonia Professor’s journey across Lake Erie was turned around after a Canadian Man went missing on the lake Sunday Afternoon.

Charlie Gris, Chief of Enforcement for the Coast Guard in Buffalo, said a man was rescued after reports of distress.

Dr. Sheri Mason, A SUNY Fredonia Professor, was attempting to cross the lake to raise awareness of plastic pollution within the Great Lakes.

Mason was to swim 24.3 miles from Long Point Canada to Freeport beach Northeast PA.

Mason turned around as Coast Guard officials searched for the missing man.
