BREAKING: Mains To Leave JPS, Will Take Superintendent Position At Pine Bush

Mains’s final day is Feb. 26th according to Panebianco.

Tim Mains also released the following statement: “I think it is important to note that when you look over the very long list of our accomplishments over the past three and a half years, that they belong, not to me, but to the many, many staff, students, parents, and community members who have continued to work tirelessly together to make Jamestown into a district of distinction.”

“Even more than our accomplishments, I am proud of that collaborative spirit that has made them all possible. I want to thank the Board, staff and community for giving me the opportunity to work with you and to be your superintendent. It has indeed been an honor and a privilege.”

As of 9:49 P.M., Panebianco confirmed Main’s departure through a release.

JPS School Board President Paul Abbott said on behalf of the board, “We have been very pleased to have had the opportunity to work with Tim since 2013. Our district has accomplished a good numer of goals we set out to achieve during his tenure.”

“Tim is a tireless professional, and I appreciate everything he has put into our district and our community during his time here. The Board will now begin the process of seeking a new superintendent. We are confident that our district and administration will continue working to achieve all the important goals Mr. Mains and the board have set forth.”

As of 8:36 P.M., Mains has yet to respond to WNYNewsNow’s Ryan Hedrick’s request for comment.

JAMESTOWN-School superintendent Tim Mains’s future is uncertain as of early Wednesday evening after recent reports placed him as a potential candidate for the same position at Pine Bush Central School District in Orange County (NY).

Jamestown School’s public relations director Cathy Panebianco declined to confirm such reports in a phone interview Wednesday with WNYNewsNow’s Justin Gould. Panebianco, however, told Gould she expects to release more information later in the evening.
