NEW YORK-More than half of Americans say that the present day is the worst period of American history that they can remember.
That’s according to the Annual Stress in America Survey from the American Psychological Association.
Sixty three percent of the adults surveyed said the future of the nation is a “very” or “somewhat” significant source of stress for them.
The number was slightly more than other common stressors like money and work.
Women reported higher levels of stress than men.
The report found a majority of people did positive things with their stress.
Just over half of Americans say that the state of the nation has inspired them to volunteer or support causes they value.
